Louche

Photo of Louche

Louche - the epitome of intertextuality in post-modern pop, or a massively pretentious excuse for feedback? Quite obviously the latter, and the people responsible are (from left to right in the photo):

Yours truly
hiding behind my hair in terror.
Ben Teasdale
making that awkward "should I sing or should I just scream again?" decision.
Nick Collins
watching his masterplan come to fruition. They'd laughed at him at the institute, but now he'd show them...
Chris Hildrew
playing at double speed in an attempt to get to the bar quicker.

Louche's all-too-brief career consisted first of a private gig (record company executives only). Then there was second headline at Wadstock '95, where the orgasmic climax of our set produced the response from one anonymous audience member But their guitars are feeding back - can't they do something about that?. The culmination of the years of work was the headlining gig at their spiritual home, New College Bar (pictured). Although every member of the band made their own contribution to the songs, especial credit for Louche's trademark sound must go to Nick for changing the time signature of everything and to Ben for making sure there was a false ending in every song.

We'll never see their like again (thank God)...
