Review of The Dolly gig, 13th October 1998
(from local music magazine Nightshift)

"...And while we're on the subject of things which will be said about Mofus, let's get a few more future cliches out in the open: they sound a tiny bit like Radiohead; they sound a tiny bit like Elastica; they don't sound anything like Belle & Sebastian, although they do claim to have a B&S song. They're the sort of band who you like from the moment they get up on stage, before they've even played a note. They just look right."

"`...We've invented slacker thrash, apparently',they announce, referring to a previous demo review. Call it what you like. Imagine grunge with less suicide and more hardcore guitar bashing. Lots of noise, lots of screaming.... They sound so traumatised by their existence that you want to hug them, but then they'll smile and sing silly ditties, and you know they're happy really. And why shouldn't they be? They're seventeen, they're in a great band. They're sorted."
