we are moonkat, purveyors of lo-fi riot grrl indie guitar-rock chaos, with the emphasis on the chaos. individually, we are Emma (vocals, guitar), Cassie (bass), Phill (who's a she not a he, and plays drums) and Richard (guitar and assorted toys).

. we've also been
compared to Sleater-Kinney, Angelica, The Breeders and
Radiohead, which probably doesn't tell you very much...
we are actually masters of disguise, although there are some photos at places like Oxphoto, Underexposed and Purr.
when she was 16, Emma realised that she'd lived out all the lyrics to
Kenickie's Come out 2nite
except get a record deal

promptly persuaded Cassie, who she'd known since she was 11, to form a
band with her, and named it after an obscure 80s children's TV show.
they played their first gig at the first ever Truck Festival in 1998, but the current line-up didn't appear until the recruitment of Phill in 1999 and Richard in 2000.
Richard: the same thing we do every day, Pinky - try to take over the
world...
Emma: fame, fame and more fame.
Richard: partial world domination!
Emma: getting what i want
Phill: i can do impressions of at least seven different animals, most
of them marine.
Richard: i know everything
Phill: what's the average weight of a rabbit?
Richard: i don't know! i'm a fraud!
Emma: eyeliner dependency
Richard: caffeine addiction
Cassie: i'm not going to tell you, am i?
